This is the second annual Dana Point to Avalon. I did last years and it was great. I won't kid you, heading out the pace is brisk (I guess that's way they call it a race!). On the way back the ride is much more leisurely. There is a very important point I would like to make here and it should not be overlooked. Many are racing an event like this to win. Others are doing it for the sheer challenge. And others yet just want to be part of something that involves dedication and some discipline to do it. But the common denominator for all is that we all need each other to make the event happen. This is the first of 3 events which encompass "the Triple Crown". If you are fortunate enough to win one of these or look yourself in the mirror and can honestly say "I did the very best I could that day given the conditions / boat that I have" well, I think that person is a Winner. An even better feeling, IMO, is after the 3rd race has been completed and you can look back and see where you did well, perhaps some areas can be improved on, etc. To compete in one race is great. To compete in all 3 is spectacular! All these 3 events are in So Cal (Los Angeles) and I am very familiar with the waters where all 3 events will take place. If I can answer anyones questions about these 3 events, here is my e mail. I will get back to you! jb

PWCOFFSHORE.com will be sponsoring 4 in x 4 in "TCO" stickers for each craft that runs next to their earned Triple Crown of Offshore Race Number, the numbers earned during last year's 2009 Triple Crown of Offshore Season. Earned numbers are to be run at the Triple Crown Races in 2010. These TCO stickers we be distributed during tech check. You bring / place your numbers on the craft, we will provide the TCO sticker

TCO stickers are placed next to the earned number on your craft.

"TCO" stands for Triple Crown of Offshore, of course... ;-]

What's your number? Check here (scroll all the way to the bottom): http://www.pwcoffshore.com/Dana_Poin...alon_Race.html

See you all for a great day of racing!

Default Race Gas (pump)

If any out of towners need any last minute 100 octane pump race gas the day before the race, plug this into your GPS:

Newport Hills 76
2690 San Miguel Drive
Newport Beach, Ca 92660
(949) 644-7151
Cost tonight was 8.99 per gallon

Reminder - consider bringng a few octane boost bottles with you out to Avalon / Catalina Island for the return leg back - no high octane fuel out there

Which was bull crap, because we all had to register on the final race of last year. Some got dinged for another 20 bucks. Dont forget your apba cards folks!!!!!!!
